Medicare is a promise that must be preserved and protected. But without action, Medicare will become insolvent by 2026. This is unacceptable, and why Sean has proudly voted on legislation that preserves this solemn promise to our nation’s seniors. Under the House-passed proposal, those seniors who have spent a lifetime paying toward Medicare will get the benefits they were promised. The plan also strengthens the Medicare for generations to come. A grave threat to Medicare was the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB), established in Obamacare, that would have reduced Medicare reimbursements for services. That’s why Sean voted to get rid of IPAB and its threat towards seniors. For current seniors, IPAB would have undoubtedly reduced their access and quality of care.
